How I Live Now

HOW I LIVE NOW by MEG ROSOFF
This book is one of my absolute favorites. I have read it probably five times. It definitely changes your perspective on who it is okay to love, what you will do for them, and what the future wars will look like.
The main character Daisy is sent away from New-York to England to live with her Aunt and cousins on their farm- none of whom she has ever met before. Her Aunt is a little crazy but Daisy gets along well with the two boys near her age and their little sister. Soon her Aunt has to leave on business and then everything in England starts going crazy. A bomb goes off and London is taken by an unknown enemy; The power starts to fail along with England's army and the governments control. For a long time this doesn't affect the children living on their isolated farm. They have the time of their lives and start to form unbreakable bonds with each other. But the war is everywhere and the farm cannot remain untouched forever.
Winning up to two highly coveted book awards this is a must-read. An astonishing story that stays with you long after you turn the last page.
